Ocean

What’s compelling to me about the ocean today is the expanse of it, the width, length and depth of it going way out beyond my view, and the sound of the wind and the waves in conversation.

The Pacific Ocean in Northern California is fierce and cold, but being next to it makes anything seem possible and drowns out all the doubts, fears and hard feelings.

Many people are drawn here every day to search for and experience something, to remember something, or to let it all go. The ocean has no judgement and gives no special treatment. It is irreverent, constant, tireless, and unending. All the ways we interact with the ocean scarcely scratch the surface of its raw energy and power, so many of it’s mystery’s are still beyond our comprehension.

What I do know is that I need to be near the ocean to feel myself fully. It inspires me to be vast, to take up space unapologetically, to persist and to stay in motion.
