loosening

A few days ago, I was watering my yard and noticed a hummingbird was following me around. I realized that she wanted a drink of water. It was a hot afternoon. I held the water stream steady and she buzzed in and out of it a few times. I was happy to help her cool off and felt blessed by the moments we shared.

Later that day, some neighbors from Nextdoor stopped by to pick something up from my yard. These 2 ladies brought three guys to do the heavy lifting and stood chatting with me for a bit. We all laughed so hard about whatever we were talking about. It felt like a party. I sometimes love random neighbor meetups.

Yesterday I got a haircut after months and months. It feels so good to have my hair washed, combed, cut, dried and styled. I almost cried about how much I love my head being touched. I cut off about 5 inches of hair and no one noticed, but I feel the difference and I like it.

I feel more ease around having perceptions of being unseen or unnoticed, feeling forgotten or misunderstood. Somehow it matters much less than it used to. I love that for myself. I expect much less and feel so overjoyed about so much more that occurs organically.

Something loosened up and let go inside of me a few months ago and I’m still understanding the ways I’m changing and already different. It’s nothing I can put my finger on exactly, but that’s the point of this change. It’s a slow evolution and discovery that will take the time it takes to reveal itself. That is a very cool feature of life.

I write to try to make sense of all the details and information I am perceiving all the time. I am always so curious to find out what will happen with the words that I choose and those that choose to come through me. I’ve come to understand so much through the way my thoughts and feelings turn into words. I love this time to see myself, listen for what I am moved to share, and filter the moments of my life through the eyes of my heart.
