delicate

The sweet, earthy smell of the controlled burns today fills the evening air
Then the scent of fresh cut grass overpowers it
Still later the indescribably natural smell rising up from the damp, earth erupting in wildflowers and a million kinds of green life takes over
A cool breeze comes in with the tide,
The warmth of the setting sun peaks out among the clouds
Many different birds sing about the rains coming tomorrow
Delicate flower petals are closing up for bedtime. They are orange, yellow, purple, white and pink
I’ve been watching this oak tree dying so slowly for many years, it feels so intimate
I recall the 2 coyotes who crossed my path at different times last night
They were making a sound fence across the golf course
The chorus of frogs in the swamp kept singing loudly anyway
On Sunday I received a petal blessing
The flowers showered upon me as I embodied sublime emptiness
I never thought this could actually happen
I notice and become curious about some blue lichen on a bay tree
The explosion of poison oak everywhere keeps me on the trail
Gorgeously dangerous, excellent boundaries
The late afternoon sun shines on the underside of a peace eagles wings as they soar
This makes me long to fly away, but I already miss being right here where I am
My heart is full of all this beauty I’ve witnessed in one short hour
I long for it as it’s right in front of me
I feel it slipping away as I behold it
Loving this moment and the next
