web designer · contemplative writer · wild woman

Hi, I’m Abby Kojola.

I’m a web designer living and working in San Rafael, California. I spend a lot of time outside—walking, listening, breathing with the trees. I also spend time with dear friends, and creating things on my computer that bring ideas to life.

This is a place where I write about the inner life — my experiences, emotions, and the long, winding process of coming to know myself more deeply. Writing has always been a healing practice for me. When I share the vulnerable, messy, tender parts of my life, something opens—both in me and in the people who read it.

It’s not always easy to be that open. Sometimes it feels raw, or uncertain. But I know how much I long for stories that are real—about people who feel deeply, struggle, grow, and keep showing up. That’s what I try to offer here.

I don’t pretend to have answers. But I do have stories, and I’ve found that sharing what’s been true for me often creates moments of connection with others. And to me, that connection—that sense of not being alone—is everything.

I reside on unceded Coastal Miwok territory at the edge of China Camp State Park — where the San Pablo Bay meets the rolling hills, and the land itself does most of the teaching.
